The Girona Flower Festival, known as "Temps de Flors," is an annual event that takes place in Girona's Barri Vell neighborhood. During this vibrant occasion, the city is transformed as a plethora of flowers and awe-inspiring conceptual ephemeral installations, created by architects and designers, adorn various monuments, courtyards, and urban spaces. This floral exhibition turns these locations into enchanting and picturesque ornamental gardens, providing a unique and captivating experience for visitors.
CONCEPT
Visitors embark on a journey through a dim, bluish, almost icy space, where their senses gradually adjust to the subdued surroundings. Suddenly, they are startled by a dramatic transformation—an intense burst of nearly blinding light that symbolizes the arrival of "the first flower of spring" breaking through the thaw. The project encapsulates that precise moment and the temporary blindness that accompanies the emergence of something dazzling. It captures the sheer joy of witnessing something incredibly beautiful for the first time, captivating us even amidst the glare.
